Big Little Joys

There is such big joy in small things — smell of orange blossoms, a ray of sunshine.

Fragrant blooms of spring and even the tantalizing aroma of frying onions…mmmmmmmmm.

Kittens running after butterflies, and butterflies turning dizzy twirls.

Morning coffee after a good night’s sleep! Wait, make that coffee any time, please!

That amazing ache after a good workout, and that cozy cuddle in the warm razaai.

Kuch cheezein roz hoti hain, kuch kabhi kabhi, but joy is just like that thing on the beach.

No no, not the shells that we seek, but the sand that we tread.

Abundant, bikhra hua, ours for the taking and for the making.

Ours to feel and also to heal.

Heal you say?

How….how would these fleeting, random, insignificant moments heal the deep gashes life marks us with?

Oh, they may look unrelated, but they are pure magic. Sanjeevani like.

They make us smile, they give us hope, they keep all the threads of our life together.

They are little specks of glitter that fill the deepest of our dark cracks.

They are in fact much needed pilot lights that keeps all else aflame.

These beautiful big litte joys!
